Souza General Stroes & Cold Storage

If you’re looking for us, we are right opposite Roshninilaya in the Kankanady area. We’ve been running Souza General Stroes & Cold Storage here for a long time, and the neighborhood has changed quite a bit since we opened. We carry a bit of everything, from the basic things you need for your kitchen to stuff we keep in the cold storage section. Keeping the refrigerators running is a big part of the job, especially with the power cuts we sometimes get around here. We spend a lot of time checking temperatures and making sure the milk and meat stay fresh. Kankanady is a lively spot, so we see all kinds of people coming through our doors every day. Some are just stopping by for a quick snack, while others are doing their full weekly shopping. We do our own stocking and cleaning, so there’s always a broom or a box in someone’s hand. It’s not a polished supermarket with bright lights and uniforms, it’s just a local store where we know a lot of the customers by name. We try to keep the shelves full, but sometimes shipments are late and we just have to wait. It gets a bit cramped when a lot of people come in at once, but we manage. It’s just a regular local business trying to provide what the neighborhood needs every day.
