Larsen & Toubro Ltd

Our office is located at H.No 5-22/3 on Shrimithra Old Post Office Road in Surathkal. This part of Karnataka has a very specific feel, especially being so close to the coast. The air always feels a little salty and humid, which took some getting used to for those of us not from here. The road itself is named after the old post office, which is a bit of a landmark for people giving directions. Our building is a modest one, nestled between some other houses and small shops. Inside, the floors are made of simple tiles that stay cool even when the sun is beating down outside. We have a few desks scattered around and a small area where we keep the water cooler for the Larsen & Toubro Ltd staff. It’s the kind of place where the door is often left slightly open to let in a breeze, though that also lets in the occasional fly. We spend our days managing local schedules and keeping in touch with the main hubs. It’s steady work, and we don’t rush things more than we have to. Surathkal is a busy town because of the port and the college nearby, so there’s always a mix of students and workers walking past our window. We usually close up around six and head out before the evening traffic gets too bad. It’s a practical, no-nonsense office where we just focus on doing our jobs without any extra bells and whistles.
