Jayaram Shetty Clinic

Jayaram Shetty Clinic is located on the Bajpe Main Road in Mangalore. This is the main road that leads toward the airport, so there is always a lot of traffic passing by at all hours. The clinic itself is a modest place that has been here for quite a while. We have a front door that opens right onto the sidewalk of the busy main road. It’s a simple setup with a small waiting area and a consultation room in the back. We’ve been serving the Bajpe community for a good number of years now. Many of the people who come here have been doing so since they were young children and now bring their own kids. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows each other’s names and families. We don't use any high-tech registration systems or computers; we still mostly use paper registers and blue pens. The walls are painted a plain color, and the furniture is old but still very sturdy. During the monsoon season, you can hear the heavy rain drumming on the roof, which is a very familiar sound for everyone in Mangalore. We don't have air conditioning in every single corner, so the ceiling fans stay on all day long to keep the air moving. The clinic gets a bit dusty because of all the trucks and vehicles on the road, so we are always wiping down the tables. We open in the morning, take a short break for lunch, and then stay open until the evening time. It’s a predictable routine.
