Crafts Boutique

We’ve been operating Crafts Boutique inside Hotel Taj Manjuran for a good while now. Our shop is tucked away in a corner of the building on Old Port Road. Most of the time it is pretty quiet in here, except when guests are checking in or out. We spend a lot of our morning just dusting the shelves and moving things around to make more room. The hotel has its own rhythm, and we just follow along with it. We aren't a big operation by any means. It is just a few of us here every day. We don't have fancy displays or bright lights. It’s a bit cramped with all the items we have, but we like it that way. Sometimes the smell of the sea comes in when the wind is right because the old port is not far away. People usually find us just by wandering through the lobby. We spend a lot of time sitting at the small desk near the door, keeping an eye on things. It is a simple way to spend the day. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything. We just keep the doors open and wait to see who walks in. The walls could use some work and the carpet is getting old, but it feels like home to us. We keep our own hours mostly. It’s just how we do things here.
