Bharathi Cement

This place is called Giridham, located at No.2-7-533 A&B on 4Th Cross. We are right on Pais Road in the Kapikad area of Bejai. Working with Bharathi Cement means we see a lot of dust and heavy trucks every single morning. It’s a lot of physical work moving bags around and checking the inventory. The building isn't brand new or anything but it stays cool enough in the shade. We spend most of our time out in the yard or sitting at the wooden desk near the entrance. Bejai is a busy part of town so there is always noise from the traffic on the main road. We keep a tally of everything that goes out on a big notepad. We don't use many fancy computers for this kind of work because hands-on is better for us. Some days the rain makes it hard to move the cement so we just wait it out under the tin roof. Our neighbors on Pais Road are all good people and we help each other out when someone needs a hand. It is a straightforward job with no hidden extras. We just sell the cement and make sure the trucks are loaded correctly before they head out to the local building sites. It’s hard work but it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. We usually have a bit of tea around four o’clock to help finish the day and chat about the heavy lifting.
