Bharath Motors

If you’re driving through Padil in Mangalore, you probably know the Ramanath Rice Mill. Bharath Motors is right across from it at Smrithi, Door No. 07-119/12. Being near the mill means there is always a bit of dust and noise, but that fits a motor shop anyway. We spend most of our time dealing with engines and parts. It’s a busy spot. People drop off their vehicles and we try to figure out what that weird clicking sound is or why the oil is leaking again. It’s not a polished showroom where everything is sparkling. There are tools everywhere and maybe a few grease marks on the walls. That’s just the nature of working on cars and bikes. We’ve been in this part of Mangalore for a good while. The heat in the afternoon can be something else, but we just keep the shutters open and keep working. Sometimes the customers stay and chat while we look at their machines. You hear a lot of stories that way. We don't have any big speeches about what we do. We just fix things so people can get back on the road. It’s a local business through and through. Nothing fancy, just a lot of hard work and making sure the bolts are tight. If you’re ever stuck near Koddakal Post, you’ll probably see our sign. We just keep doing our thing day by day and try to get the jobs done right for everyone who brings their car in.
