Amma Chende Balaga

Amma Chende Balaga is based in the Urwa area of Mangalore. Our location is quite close to the Urwa Ground, which is a popular spot for people to gather. The pincode here is 575006. Being in Mangalore, we are used to the coastal air and the specific pace of life here. Our workspace is pretty simple and does not have any of those modern corporate decorations. We mostly focus on our instruments and the practice we need to do. It is a place where you will often hear a lot of noise, specifically the sound of the Chende. We are a group that spends a lot of time together in this small space near the ground. It is not always perfectly tidy because we have a lot of gear and equipment moved around. We start our sessions when we can and usually keep at it until it gets dark. The neighborhood knows us because of the sounds coming from our building. We are not trying to be a big company with a mission. We are just a group of people in Urwa who care about what we do. People in the 575006 area often see us around the ground or walking to the local shops for tea. It is a local life. We do not use fancy marketing. We just let the work speak for itself. It is a bit of a crowded space sometimes, but it feels like home to us and we like it.
