Down in Mangalore, you can find us working out of Gurudaya House. It is situated in Guru Nagar, specifically in the Mary Hill area. The address is 08 Karnataka, and it is a place that feels a lot more like a quiet neighborhood than a typical business district. Alva&Associates operates out of this house, which gives the whole thing a very different feel than a modern glass tower. We have some trees around the property, and you can sometimes hear the local birds over the sound of our computers. It is quite humid here most of the time, so we have to keep the ceiling fans going at full speed. The office is basically just a few rooms filled with stacks of books and old papers. We don't even have a big flashing sign out front, just the name written on the gate. It is a very family sort of atmosphere for us. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the weather while we try to get through the day's tasks. Mary Hill is a nice part of town, located a bit away from the main chaos of the city center. We have been at Gurudaya House for a while now. When people come to visit Alva&Associates, they usually say something about how quiet it is compared to the rest of Mangalore. We don't have a fancy lobby or assistants. It is just us doing the work that needs doing.
