A M Glass Arts

We are located in the Red Building on Red Building Lane in Kankanady. It’s right below the Karnataka Bank. A M Glass Arts is basically a workshop where we deal with glass. It’s a bit of a delicate job, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. The lane is quite narrow, but people find their way to us. We have all sorts of glass pieces sitting around. You have to be careful where you step. Mangalore 575002 is where we are settled. The bank upstairs is a good landmark for people who haven't been here before. We start our days with a cup of tea and then get to the cutting and shaping. It's noisy sometimes when the machines are running. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s mostly just the raw workspace. Some days are busier than others depending on what projects we have on the table. We’ve seen a lot of different glass trends come and go. We just stick to the methods that work for us. It’s honest labor. Kankanady is a bustling place, so there’s always something happening outside. We stay focused on the glass. The building itself is quite old and has a lot of character. We like being part of this old part of the city. It’s got a good feel to it. We keep a broom handy for the glass shards. It’s impossible to get every single piece, so we wear thick shoes. The light from the street comes in through the front. We sometimes sit by the door when it’s quiet. There’s a certain rhythm to the cutting of the glass. It’s a skill that takes time to learn. We aren’t in a hurry to grow big. We’re happy just where we are in Kankanady.
