Universal Spares

Universal Spares is tucked away on the first floor of Milagres Mansion. If you are in Hampankatta, you probably know the building. It is number 55/4, and you have to head up the stairs to find us. The building has that older feel to it, which we quite like. Looking out from the first floor, you can see the streets of Hampankatta below. It is a busy area with lots of shops and people walking around. The stairs can be a bit of a climb if you are carrying things, but it keeps us moving. Our space isn't huge, but we make sure every corner is used for something. We spend a lot of time sorting through things and making sure we know where everything is kept. Hampankatta is the heart of the city, so there is always something going on outside our windows. We open up early and stay until the evening rush starts to settle down. It gets warm in the afternoons, but the breeze usually comes through the windows. We do not have any big signs or bright lights, just the name on the door. People who need us usually know exactly where to go. Being in Milagres Mansion feels like being part of the history of this part of town. It is a straightforward way to spend the day, just doing the work and staying busy in our little corner of the first floor.
