Kirloskar Constructions And Engineers Limited, Chennai

We’ve been here at St. Thomas Mount for a while now. Most people know us over on Silver Street, just a short walk from the main areas. It’s Kirloskar Constructions And Engineers Limited, but most of us just call it the office. The building is older, but it works for what we do every day. We handle a lot of different projects around Chennai, so there is always someone coming in or out with dusty boots and rolled-up papers. It gets pretty loud during the day with the traffic outside and the phones ringing constantly. We aren't fancy people. We just show up, get the work done, and go home to our families. Some days the tea guy comes by twice if we’re lucky. We deal with a lot of blueprints and site visits. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoons, so we sit by the windows to get some light and keep writing things down. It’s a busy spot. People stop by to ask about local jobs or just to find directions sometimes. We’ve got a small crew here. Everyone knows each other's names and how they like their coffee. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but our gate stays the same. The sign out front is starting to fade a little bit from the sun, but it still says who we are. It’s just how things go around here in Chennai.
