Gold Finch Hotel

We have been here on Bunts Hostel Road for a good while now. Being so close to KMC Hospital and Jyoti Circle means there is always something going on outside our doors. It gets busy, especially in the mornings when the traffic picks up near the circle. We spend most of our time making sure the rooms are ready for whoever walks in. Some people come for medical reasons because the hospital is right there, while others are just passing through Mangalore. It is a lot of work keeping up with the laundry and the kitchen orders, but that is just how it is. Sometimes the rain here gets really heavy and we have to move fast to keep everything dry and comfortable inside. We are not a big fancy chain with scripts for everything. We just talk to people like they are neighbors. The staff here knows the local spots for a good meal if you ask. We have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. New shops come and go, but we are still here in the same spot. It is not always quiet, but it is home for us. We just try to do our jobs right and make sure people have a place to sleep that does not feel like a cold office. You might see us fixing a light or dragging some luggage across the lobby in the afternoon. It is a simple life here near the hospital.
