Diggers (India), Mangalore

Our business, Diggers (India), is run out of Mercine Villa in the Kanadka House area of Shakthinagar, Mangalore. Priya D’Souza and her father Mr. Valerian D’Souza are the ones you’ll usually find here. It’s a family home that also serves as our base of operations. Being in Mangalore, we are used to the coastal weather and the slow pace of the neighborhood. The villa has a lot of character and it’s a much nicer place to work than a cramped office in the city center. We deal with various digging and construction-related tasks. There’s usually some heavy equipment parked nearby or being moved to a site. We spend a lot of time coordinating with workers and checking on project progress. It’s a lot of phone calls and ledger keeping. We don't have a website or a fancy logo on the wall. We just have our reputation in the local area. People know where to find us if they need work done. Sometimes we sit out in the garden to discuss the next day’s schedule. It feels more like a way of life than a corporate job. We take things as they come and try to be helpful to everyone who reaches out. The house is always busy with something going on, whether it's work or just family life blending in together. It is a very direct way to do business and we like it that way.
