Out here at Plot No 201 in Sector 3 of IMT Manesar, things move at a different pace. It’s an industrial hub, so you hear the sound of machines and trucks pretty much all day long. Our facility is one of those big metal-roofed buildings that gets quite hot in the summer months. We deal with automotive parts, so there’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving stuff around on the floor. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean; there’s always a bit of grease or metal shavings somewhere. We’ve been at this plot for a while, and we’ve seen the area grow quite a bit. There used to be more empty space around us, but now it’s all factories. The morning shift starts early, and there is always a rush to get things lined up. We have a small office area for the paperwork, but most of the action happens out on the main floor. It’s a practical setup, designed for getting work done rather than looking pretty. We have a lot of staff coming in from nearby villages and towns, so the canteen gets pretty crowded during the lunch break. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend half the day fixing a machine instead of producing parts, but that is just part of the routine. We don’t spend much time on fancy talk; we just focus on the tasks at hand and try to keep up with the schedule.
