About Sri Rama General Store – Food & Beverages in Mandya
It is just a small place here at 36-89 in Hagaribommanahalli. Most days start around six when the shutters go up. There is always a bit of dust on the front step that needs sweeping before the first person comes in for milk or a packet of tea. We have the usual things people need for their kitchens like dals, rice, and those little soap bars. The shelves are wooden and some are a bit bent because they have been there so long. Ramanagara can get quite warm in the afternoons so the fan stays on but it doesn't do much. You mostly see the same faces every day. Old Man Gowda usually stops by to complain about his knees while he waits for his change. We keep a notebook for the regulars who pay at the end of the month. It gets a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone is getting back from work and they all want something at the same time. Sometimes we run out of the popular biscuits and people have to wait for the next delivery truck to show up. There isn't anything fancy about how we do things here. We just count the stock, stack the bags, and make sure the change box has enough coins. If the light goes out, we just light a couple of candles and keep going until it is time to lock up and head home for dinner.
