Our office for Somat Infrastructure is a bit different because it is located in Hulivana village, which is part of the Keragodu area in Mandya. We are at the address listed under D/O H.S. Nagaraju. It is much quieter here than in the big cities like Bangalore or Pune. Being in rural Karnataka, the pace of life is slower and we like that. We focus on infrastructure work, so we spend a lot of time thinking about roads, buildings, and how things are constructed. It is a very practical kind of work. We don't have a shiny glass office; instead, we work out of a simple building that fits in with the village surroundings. Sometimes we have to travel out to project sites, but this is our main base. We use simple English and Kannada to get things done with the local workers and the people in the community. Our desk is usually covered in maps and site plans. It gets quite green around here during the monsoon, which is a nice change from the dusty construction zones. We just focus on doing the work properly without any big fuss or complicated words. People in the village know us, and we know them. It is just about getting the infrastructure built so it stays up for a long time. We handle everything from the planning stages to the final check on the ground.
