Kavya Crane

Kavya Crane is based in Sankar Nagar. We are at 15-9-36, which is right near the Raitha Sabhangana. If you live around here or drive through often, you probably know that landmark. Our work involves a lot of heavy lifting and big machines. It’s not the kind of job where you can stay clean for very long. Most of the guys here have grease under their fingernails and dirt on their boots. We keep the cranes in a yard where there is enough room to move them around and park the trucks. It gets pretty loud when the engines start up in the morning. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning or nice chairs. We mostly use a small shack to keep the keys and the logbooks. It’s a very basic setup because we spend most of our time out on different construction sites or roadside jobs. When we aren't out on a call, we are right here in Sankar Nagar checking the cables and the oil levels. It’s important to keep everything running right so nothing breaks down during a lift. The area near Raitha Sabhangana is usually busy with farmers and local activity, so there's always something to see. We aren't a big corporation with a lot of rules and meetings. We are just a local crew that knows how to operate cranes. We take the work as it comes and try to do a solid job every time. It’s hard work, but we are used to it by now. We just do our best to keep things moving.
