If you’re near Barti College in Mandya, you’ve probably walked past our shop. Chowdeswri Hardware Glass And Plywood has been sitting here for a good long while. The place is packed from floor to ceiling with sheets of plywood and stacks of glass. It’s always a bit dusty because of all the wood we cut for people. We don't have a big fancy showroom, just rows of hinges, handles, and tools. My brother and I usually run the counter, and we know exactly where every small screw is hidden, even if it looks like a mess to everyone else. Customers come in looking for stuff to fix their houses or build new cabinets. We spend a lot of time measuring things and making sure the glass doesn't crack while we move it. The college students walk by all day, and it makes the street feel busy and loud. We open up early and stay until the sun goes down. Sometimes we just sit on the stools and watch the traffic go by when it’s slow. We don't do any big advertisements. People just know us as the hardware spot near the college. It’s a simple business, selling things people need to keep their homes together. We like it that way, just honest work and heavy lifting. It keeps us busy and out of trouble most days.
