B. Chandappa Son

If you’re looking for us, we’re right on B.D. Road. Most people find us by looking for the Azad Roller Flour Mill, which is right nearby. You can usually hear the hum of the mill during the day. Our place, B. Chandappa Son, is a bit of a local fixture in this neighborhood. It’s been passed down through the family, and we’ve kept it pretty much the same as it was years ago. The building is older, with thick walls that stay somewhat cool in the summer. We don't have a big staff, just a few people who have been with us forever. Every morning, we sweep the front and get things ready for whoever might stop by. It’s a lot of manual work and keeping track of inventory. The road outside can get quite dusty with the trucks going to and from the mill, but we’re used to it by now. We spend most of our time in the back room where it's quieter. There isn't any fancy computer system here, just some ledgers and a landline that rings more than you’d expect. We try to keep things simple and honest. The neighbors usually drop in for a chat or to share some news. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows your name and who your father was. We just keep doing what we’ve always done at B. Chandappa Son, without making any fuss or noise about it.
