Jadeja Shipping Line

Down in Mandvi, near the Kutch Oil Mill, is where you’ll find us. Shipping is a tough business and the air always smells like salt and engine oil around here. We’ve been operating the Jadeja Shipping Line for a long time, helping move goods through the port. It’s not a clean job; there’s a lot of mud, heavy ropes, and waiting for the tides to be right. Our office is just a small place where we handle all the paperwork and logbooks. We spend more time on the docks than behind a desk anyway. Mandvi has a long history with the sea and we’re just a small part of that tradition. We don't have fancy logos or big marketing teams. We just have our names and our word. Dealing with boats and cargo means something is always breaking or getting delayed, so you have to be ready for anything. We work with the local crews and the families who have been here for generations. It’s a lot of shouting over the wind and making sure the crates are secured properly. When the sun goes down over the water, we’re usually still finishing up the day's tasks. It gets lonely sometimes out there, but that is the life of a sailor or anyone working the lines. If you’re near the old oil mill and need something moved by water, you can usually find one of us hanging around the harbor or in the small office.
