Parag Fragrances

If you find yourself near the Neelam Hotel in Kalakhet, you’ll probably find our place at number 120. It is a bit of an old building, but it works well for what we do every day. Parag Fragrances isn't some high-end boutique with glass shelves and soft music. It’s more of a working space where we mix things and keep our stock organized. The smell is the first thing you notice when you walk through the door. Sometimes it’s a bit overwhelming when we are opening new containers of oils or essences. We’ve been here in Kalakhet for quite a while now. Most people know us just by the scent drifting out into the street. It’s a family-style operation, really. We don’t have a big marketing team or a fancy website to show off. We just know which scents go together and how to bottle them so they stay fresh for the people who buy them. Sometimes the labels aren't perfectly straight on the bottles, but what's inside is what people actually come back for. We get a lot of locals dropping in, and sometimes people from further away who heard about us from a friend or a cousin. The street outside can get a bit crowded, especially in the afternoons when everyone is out, but inside we just keep to our work, measuring and pouring. It’s a quiet kind of life, mostly, just focusing on getting the blends right and making sure we don’t run out of empty bottles when a big order comes in.
