Madhya Bharat Ceramics

If you head down Nayapura Road, you will eventually run into our spot. Madhya Bharat Ceramics has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. It is a bit of a messy business, to be honest. Ceramics involve a lot of clay and water, so things are rarely pristine around here. The road outside can get a bit muddy when it rains, which makes moving the heavy crates a real chore. We have a small crew and most of us have known each other for years. There is usually a radio playing in the background somewhere, though half the time it is just static. We spend our days looking over the kilns and making sure the pieces aren't cracking. It is a slow process and you can’t really rush it. Some days the heat from the ovens makes the whole building feel like a furnace. We just open the windows and hope for a breeze. People in the district know us as the place with the stacks of crates out front. We don’t really have a big sign or anything. Most folks just know where we are. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the weather or how the road needs fixing. It is just a regular local business where people show up, do their work, and go home to their families. There is nothing complicated about how we run things here on Nayapura Road.
