If you go near the bus stand road at Chilman Chowk, you'll find Sonalmedicalstores at Shop No. 4. We’ve been in Mandla for quite a while now. It's a busy area because of the buses, so there's always someone walking past. Our shop is small, but we try to keep it packed with what people need. It gets crowded inside sometimes when more than two people are waiting. We spend most of our time behind the counter. It's a lot of reaching for boxes and checking labels. The floor is a bit worn down from everyone coming in and out. Being near the bus stand means we see a lot of travelers, not just the locals from Chilman Chowk. We open early because the buses start running early. It’s a noisy spot with the horns and the people shouting, but you get used to it after a week. We don't have much room for a back office, so everything happens right there in the shop. My brother and I take turns sitting at the desk. We keep a ledger for everything. It’s not a high-tech operation. We just do things the old way. Some days it's just us sitting and waiting for the next bus to arrive. It’s a decent life. We know the other shop owners around Mandla and we help each other out when we can. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling, so we have a small step stool.
