The shop is located at Shahid Uday Chand Chowk, right on Uday Chowk Road in Mandla. If you look for Manoj Press, we are just near there. We call it Skmedicalstores, though most people just say they’re going down to the chowk. It’s a lively spot to be in. There is always someone selling tea nearby or a rickshaw waiting for a passenger. Inside the store, it’s mostly just me and the medicine boxes. I’ve tried to organize the shelves by alphabet, but sometimes a delivery comes and everything gets mixed up for a few days. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to worry about that. Mandla can get quite dusty, so I’m always wiping down the counters. We don’t have a big team or anything corporate. It’s just a local shop where we keep track of what people in the neighborhood usually need. If someone needs something we don’t have, we try to get it on the next delivery truck from the city. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook, and other times it’s dead quiet for an hour. I usually sit on the wooden stool behind the counter and watch the people passing by Manoj Press until someone walks in. It’s a good way to spend the day.
