Chourasia Cement Pipe Indrustries is located right on the Main Jabalpur Road in Binjhiya. If you drive past, you can’t really miss the stacks of pipes sitting out in the yard. Making cement pipes is heavy work and it’s definitely not a clean job. There is always sand and gravel around, and the mixers make a lot of noise throughout the day. We spend a lot of time out in the sun, making sure the molds are set right and the cement is curing like it should. The road outside is always busy with trucks going toward Jabalpur, so there is a constant hum of traffic. It gets pretty dusty, especially in the dry months. We usually start work quite early before the sun gets too high. It’s a simple process but you have to be careful with the timing. If the mix isn't right, the pipe won't be strong. We have a few guys who have been doing this for years, and they know the feel of the concrete just by looking at it. We don't have a big office or anything. Most of the business happens right there in the yard or in the small shed where we keep the tools. People from the nearby farms or construction sites come by to pick up what they need. We just load them up and get back to the next batch.
