SHUDARANG CONSTRUCTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED

Shudarang Constructions is based out of the village of Shudarang in the Kalpa area. Our office is located right at Aradhna’s house. Living in this part of Kinnaur is beautiful but actually working here is a completely different story. The winters are long and very cold, so we have to cram all our building work into the months when the sun is actually out. Most of us grew up around these hills and we understand the rock and the soil here better than outsiders would. We handle various local construction jobs, mostly smaller projects for the people living nearby or fixing up older structures that haven't aged well. Getting things like cement and steel up to this part of Himachal takes a lot of time and a lot of patience. Sometimes the roads get blocked for weeks and nothing moves. We sit in the small office and look over our plans when the weather turns bad. It’s not some big corporate operation with a lot of money, just a few of us trying to build things that are solid enough to last. We use whatever tools and materials we can get our hands on. It’s hard work and your hands are always rough, but it’s what we’ve always done. People from the village often come by to chat about their houses. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. We just show up and do the job properly.
