Safety Health & Fire Officer Trainee In Acc Plant

I am currently working as a safety health and fire officer trainee at the ACC plant. I live in VPO Meramasit, which is in the Sunder Nagar area of Mandi district. It’s a beautiful part of Himachal Pradesh, though the hills make for a lot of climbing when you’re on the job. Being a trainee means I’m always learning something new from the senior guys. The plant is a big place and there’s always something happening that needs an eye kept on it. I spend my mornings checking the safety gear and walking the floors to make sure the fire exits are clear. It’s a lot of walking. Sometimes my legs are quite sore by the time I head back home to Meramasit. The air is fresh up here, but the work is hard. I don’t mind it, though. It’s good to have a steady job nearby. My family has been in this district for a long time. People around Sunder Nagar are friendly, and we all kind of look out for each other. I’m still getting used to all the technical rules about health and safety, but I’m getting there. It’s not like what you see in books; real life at the plant is much more complicated. I just try to be useful and keep everyone safe while they’re working. It’s a practical way to earn a living. I hope to keep doing this for a long time and maybe become a full officer one day when my training is done.
