Refectory

Refectory is part of The Himalayan Resort & Spa, which is up on Hadimba Road in Manali. If you know the area, you know it's a bit of a climb up from the main town, but the air is better up here and it is quieter. We are located right in the 175131 zip code. Working in Manali means we deal with a lot of tourists and people looking for a break from the city heat. We just provide a place where folks can get something to eat while they are staying at the resort or visiting the nearby temple. It's not a complicated business. We have a kitchen and some tables for our guests. We try to keep the place warm because it gets quite cold here in the winter months. The view outside is nice when the weather is clear, but we spend most of our time inside working. We are just a group of local people and some staff who have moved here for the season. We don't use any fancy marketing talk to get people in. We just cook the food and serve it. Sometimes the road up here gets a bit tricky when it snows, but we stay open as much as we can for the people staying with us. It's a quiet life for the most part, except when the tourist season is busy. We just do our jobs.
