About Pahari Samaj Paryavarani Kawach Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Mandi
Our foundation is based in Village Chiya, which is part of the Paonta area in Nahan. We work out of Atul Kaushik’s house. Living in the mountains, you see how important nature is every single day. We called ourselves a paryavarani kawach because we want to be like a shield for our local environment. It sounds a bit formal, but we are actually just regular village people. We don't have a big office or computers everywhere. Most of our work happens on the ground, literally. We walk around, check on the trees, and talk to other villagers about keeping our water clean. Atul helps us stay on track. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy reports. We just do the work and hope it makes a difference. Nahan is a beautiful place and we want it to stay that way for our kids. Sometimes we organize small groups to clean up a path or help someone with their land. It’s not a big corporate operation. We don't have meetings in suits. We just wear our everyday clothes and get to work. People around Chiya know us well. They see us out there every day. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just our little part of it here in the hills. It’s a simple life and we are happy to be doing something that feels right for the land we live on every single day.
