Itdpcl,M/S Ntpc,Koldam,Mandi,Himachal Pradesh

We are based up here in Mandi, right near the Koldam project area. It’s pretty cold most of the year, but we get used to it after a few seasons. The roads leading up here are a bit tricky sometimes, especially when it rains. Most of us here have been working at this spot for Itdpcl and NTPC for a while now. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just a practical workspace in Himachal Pradesh. You can find us right in the Koldam district. It gets quite dusty with all the construction and movement around the dam site. We spend most of our days dealing with the paperwork and the ground reality of what’s happening at the project. Sometimes the internet is slow because of the mountains, but we manage somehow. The locals know us well. We’ve been part of this landscape for a good stretch. There’s a lot of walking involved because of how the site is spread out. Every morning starts with a hot tea before the work begins. It’s a quiet place except for the machinery noise sometimes. We don’t have much to brag about, just that we are here and doing what we need to do. The Mandi weather can be harsh, but the view is decent if you look past the gravel and the trucks. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily tasks that come with being located at a site like Koldam. We’ve seen the seasons change here for years.
