Our location is out in Village Slapper, near the post office in Sudahan. It is part of the Mandi district up here in Himachal Pradesh. The office is actually at the place of the son of Sri Khem Chand. It is a quiet place compared to the big city sites. We deal with a lot of rocky ground and hills in this area. Itd Cementation India Ltd needs a base here because there is a lot of work to be done in the mountains. The air is fresh but the work is still hard and dusty. We have a lot of heavy machinery moving around these narrow roads. It can be a bit of a squeeze sometimes. We aren't a big corporate office with suits and ties. We wear work clothes and boots because that is what the job needs. We have our papers and our tools all in one place. The weather can change fast, and snow in the winter makes everything a lot harder for our crew. We just take it day by day. Most of us are local or have been here so long we feel local. We don't have any big speeches to give to anyone. We just show up, do the work, and make sure the cement sets right. It is a simple life but it keeps us occupied. There is always something new to handle in these hills.
