If you head out to Village Tawan in the Dhavan area of Mandi, you’ll find us. We are tucked away in the Sadar tehsil. It’s a quiet spot compared to the bigger towns, which is something we actually like. Our office is a simple building that fits right into the village surroundings. Working for Italian-Thai in this part of Himachal Pradesh means we deal with a lot of local matters. The hills are right there, and sometimes the phone signal isn't the best, so we have to step outside to get a clear call. We have a small team here. Most of the time, we are just keeping track of the materials and the workers who come from the nearby villages. There is a lot of paperwork because of the government regulations, so we spend a lot of time at our desks with a stapler and a lot of folders. The local chai wallah brings us tea twice a day, which is the highlight of the afternoon. We don't have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. Just a few desks, some filing cabinets, and a lot of practical knowledge about the local terrain. It’s a very grounded way to work. We know the neighbors and they know us. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out or work by the light from the windows.
