Our office is located in Village Thalge, near the post office in Churadh, which is in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. Working in this part of India means you’re always dealing with the geography. It’s a rural spot, very different from the big city offices people usually think of. We are involved in development work, which usually means a lot of time spent on-site looking at soil, rocks, and concrete. The air is fresh here, but the work is tough. We don't have any shiny glass buildings or fancy lobbies. It’s just a practical space where we can keep our tools and maps. Most of the people working here are local or have been staying in the area for the duration of the project. We eat together, work together, and sometimes complain about the rain together. It’s a very grounded way of working. There are no fancy titles that matter much when you’re out in the field trying to get a project finished. We just care about getting the work done right without making any noise about it. Sometimes it’s a bit isolating being so far out, but we’ve got a good rhythm going. It’s about the daily progress, even if it’s just a few meters of work. That’s how we do things in Thalge. We aren't here to impress anyone, just to finish what we started.
