We are based near the Post Office Chowk in Bhangrotu. It is a busy spot where people often gather, and being right by the chowk means there is always something happening outside our doors. Himalya Food And Spices Industry is where we process and pack different things. The air around here often smells like different seasonings, depending on what we are working on that particular morning. It is a messy job, and our clothes usually end up covered in different colored powders by the time we go home. The building is more of a workshop than an office. We have heavy tables for sorting and bags piled up in the corners waiting to be filled. The roof is made of corrugated metal, so it gets quite loud when it rains, and we sometimes have to shout to be heard over the noise. We don't have any high-tech machinery; it’s mostly manual labor and simple tools that have been around for a long time. People from the village often stop by to see what we are doing or to ask for a bit of help with something. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters. We just focus on the work at hand and try to make sure everything is packed correctly before it leaves Bhangrotu. It is a straightforward life, and we take things one day at a time, making sure the work gets done despite the dust and the noise.
