Hans Raj & Sons

Hans Raj & Sons is a small family business based out of Gohar village in the Chachiot area. It’s a quiet place up here compared to the big cities. We’ve been operating from this same spot for a long time, and the name on the board belongs to my father. We do a bit of everything that the local people need, whether it’s supplies or just helping out with trade in the village. The shop is part of our home, so there is no real divide between work and life. You might see the kids running around or the laundry hanging out back while we are talking to a customer. Our village is small, so everyone knows where we are. We don't have a big sign with lights; people just walk in through the front door. The weather can get quite cold in the winter, so we usually have a small fire going or a heater to keep our hands warm while we work. It’s not a fast-paced environment. We take our time to talk to whoever comes in, often over a cup of tea. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy philosophy. We just want to keep the family name going and provide what the folks in Gohar need without any trouble. It’s a simple life, and we are happy to stay right here in the hills doing what we know how to do. Most of the neighbors have known us since we were children.
