Samkhetar Bazaar is a tight squeeze for a construction company, but that’s where we are. 98/7 is our spot. Dr. R.K Puri Construction has been operating out of this bazaar for a good while. It is a bit chaotic with all the vendors and people shopping for groceries right outside our door. We do a lot of local building work. Some days we are looking at blueprints and other days we are out at a site making sure the walls are straight. Construction is never as easy as it looks on paper. There are always delays with the weather or materials not showing up on time. We just try to keep things moving. The bazaar is loud from early morning, so we usually get an early start too. Our office is small and filled with files and rolls of drawings. It’s not very organized, but we know where everything is. We handle the paperwork and the planning while the guys are out doing the actual digging and laying bricks. It’s a lot of coordination. People in the neighborhood know us by name. We aren't some big city firm with fancy suits. We wear work boots and carry measuring tapes. Sometimes projects take longer than we want. That’s just construction for you. We just take it one brick at a time and try to get the roofs on before the rain starts.
