Cafe Coffee Day

Up here in Nirmand, things move at a much different pace than the big cities. We are situated in the Kullu district, surrounded by trees and the quiet hills of Himachal. This isn't one of those big, shiny cafes you see in a mall in Delhi or Chandigarh. It is much simpler than that. We mostly serve people passing through the area or locals who need a place to sit for a bit. The weather gets quite cold in the winter, so having a hot cup of coffee ready for whoever walks in is important. Most of the staff here grew up nearby, so we know the area well. Sometimes the power goes out if the wind is too strong, but we manage. People come in to chat or just to look at the view from the window while they drink. It is a nice little spot on the way to the village. We keep things pretty basic. There is no fancy music playing loud, just the sound of the wind or some birds outside. We open up early enough for the morning crowd and stay till things get dark. It is a bit of a climb to get here, but it is worth it for the fresh air. We don’t really do much advertising because everyone around here already knows where we are located. We just focus on making sure the machine is running and the place is clean for whoever stops by.
