Bhutti Weavers Co-Operative Society Ltd.

Our place is at Bhutti Colony, right in Shamshi. Bhutti Weavers Co-Operative Society Ltd. is not like a regular company you would find in a big city. It is a group of us working together. Most of what we do is centered around weaving, which is something we have known how to do for a very long time. The colony is a community, so work and life kind of blend together for us here. You can hear the looms clicking throughout the day. It is a steady, rhythmic sound that we are all used to. We do not have a big boss in a suit. We just have committees and people who have been doing this for decades. The air is fresh up here, but the work is still hard and requires a lot of patience. We spend a lot of time on the small details of the patterns and the wool quality. It is not something you can rush if you want it done right. If a visitor comes to Shamshi, they usually find their way to us easily enough. We do not do much fancy talk. We just show people what we have made. Sometimes the yarn arrives late or the weather makes things difficult, but we always have something on the looms. It is a way of life more than just a business for most of the folks here. We stay busy and keep the traditions going.
