Our office is tucked away in Reddy Colony, at 12-894/2. Mancherial Amartya Chit Funds Privatelimited has been here for a bit. It’s a local operation, mostly just a few of us making sure the chit fund groups are organized. If you know Reddy Colony, you know it can get a little crowded with traffic sometimes, but it’s a good spot for us. We spend most of our time looking at ledgers and talking to people who drop in to check their accounts. It’s a practical business. We don’t have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. It’s just desks, chairs, and a lot of paper. People around here trust us because they see us every day. We aren't doing anything fancy. We just manage the monthly collections and make sure the auctions go as they should. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet acts up, but we just keep going anyway. It’s honest work and it keeps the local community connected through their savings. We know most of the people who come through the door by their first names. It’s just how things are done in this part of town. We stay open pretty late some days if the work isn't finished. It’s a simple setup, but it works for what we need to do. We usually have some tea and get through the stacks of files before the day ends. Most of our members are like neighbors to us now.
