Deepak Traders

Deepak Traders is based in the Krishi Upaj Mandi Complex in Dhar. If you have ever been to a mandi, you know exactly what it’s like. It is loud, busy, and there are tractors and trucks moving around everywhere. We have a small spot in the complex where we do our trading work. It is mostly about grains and what the farmers are bringing in from the fields nearby. Our day usually starts before the sun is even up, especially during the harvest season when the crops come in fast. The air is always full of the smell of wheat or soy, depending on the time of year. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have a desk, some wooden chairs for when people come to sit and talk, and a lot of old ledger books. It’s a very traditional way of doing things. We know most of the people who come through the gates because we’ve been working here for a long time. There is a lot of haggling and checking the quality of the bags by hand. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, like when it rains and we have to rush to cover everything up with plastic sheets. It’s a tough environment but it is honest work. We aren't interested in big corporate talk. We just want to make sure the trading goes right and everyone gets a fair deal at the end of the day.
