We go by the name Negilu Thotagaarike Farmer Producer and we are located in Malur Taluk. Specifically, we are at the place of Chikka Muniyappamedahatty. It is a rural area, so you won’t see any tall buildings or paved sidewalks around our spot. Most of the time, the air smells like the fields and the livestock nearby. We set this up because the farmers in this part of Malur needed a way to organize things better. Chikka Muniyappa’s place has been the main hub for us. It’s where we keep the ledgers and where people drop off their notes. The building is old but sturdy enough for what we do. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations because that isn't what we are here for. Usually, we are just sitting on the porch or in the main room talking about the soil and the upcoming rains. The road leading up to us can get a bit rough during the monsoon, so people mostly come on foot or on motorbikes. It is a quiet place except when we have our big group meetings. Then it gets quite loud with everyone sharing their opinions at the same time. We are just local people working in the same area, trying to get through the seasons as best as we can. It’s a very plain way of doing things, but it works for the folks around here. We just try to keep the business side of farming as simple as we can.
