Out here in Mallowal, things move at their own pace. Kulwinder Singh & Co. is based right in the village, near Baba Bakala. It’s been our base for a long time. Mostly we handle the local trade stuff that comes through. The office isn't much to look at, just a desk and some chairs where we sit and talk about the business for the day. Being in a V.P.O. means everyone knows everyone. We don't need big advertisements because word of mouth is how things work here. Some mornings it’s just the sound of the birds and the occasional tractor going by. We handle the paperwork and the logistics for whatever needs moving. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking on things. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside for a bit. Kulwinder Singh & Co. isn’t some big city firm with shiny windows. We’re just local people working in Teh. Baba Bakala. We take the work seriously but we don't use fancy words to describe it. If someone needs help with the trade business, they come find us. We’ve been at this address for quite a while now. It's a simple life and a simple business. We just make sure the jobs get finished. It's dusty, busy, and real. That’s how we like it. We don't really go for those polished corporate styles. It is just a few of us here.
