City Supermarket & Bakery

We are tucked away in Ward No 6, specifically House 2 in Thekkuthode. It’s a bit of a drive through the Konni area to get here, but the Pathanamthitta district is beautiful. City Supermarket & Bakery isn't as big as the names might make you think. We are a local shop serving the families around here. The bakery part usually smells like fresh bread in the mornings, which is nice for us and the neighbors. We carry the basics that people need so they don’t have to travel all the way into the bigger towns. It’s a quiet life in Thekkuthode. We know who likes which biscuits and who needs their milk delivered early. The house we work out of has been part of the landscape for a long time. We try to keep things tidy, but with flour and sugar everywhere, it’s a constant battle. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time with the narrow roads, but they always manage to get through. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. We just open the doors in the morning and see who comes in. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We take turns behind the counter and in the back. If the weather is bad, we might close a bit early, but usually, we are here. It’s just a honest way to make a living and help the folks in Ward No 6 get what they need for their kitchens and homes. We enjoy the pace of life here.
