We run Adroit Engineering And Infrastructure Private Limited out of Quarter No-2RB/50 in the Godiline area. It’s near Kalichowk in Balimela, which is part of the Malkangiri district. Being out here in this part of Orissa means we have to be pretty self-reliant. We do engineering and infrastructure work, which covers a lot of ground from fixing up local roads to helping with bigger public works. The office is part of a residential quarter, so it’s got a very home-grown feel to it. We don't have a lot of corporate polish or a fancy boardroom. Most of the time we are out at different sites in Malkangiri, checking on progress and talking to the local crews. Engineering in this region comes with its own set of challenges, like getting equipment moved over rough terrain or dealing with the heavy rains during the monsoon season. We’ve been at it for a while and have learned that things rarely go perfectly on the first try. You just have to be patient and keep working at the problem until it's fixed. We keep our records and tools here at Godiline. It's a quiet spot most of the time unless we have a big delivery coming through or a meeting with the laborers. We aren't a huge firm, just a group of people who know how to build things and keep the local infrastructure moving.
