We are based out in Doraha. It’s a bit more open here than in the middle of the city. Honey and everything related to bees is what we focus on. Inside the facility, the honey is processed and put into jars. It’s a sticky business for everyone involved. As soon as you get close to the gate, you can smell the sweetness. Beekeepers from the surrounding areas work with us. Harvest season makes things incredibly busy around here. Crates of jars are often stacked up to the ceiling. Because of the drips, the floor has to be washed down constantly. It’s a family-run thing mostly. My time is spent talking to suppliers and checking the quality of the batches. There isn't a retail shop here; it's more of a production center. Since the town of Doraha is small, everyone knows what we do. Trucks take the honey to the city for sale once it's ready. The machinery we use is old but it works well enough. Being outside the main city is nice because of the quietness. Weather issues sometimes affect the bees, which makes things difficult for everyone. It’s not a perfect business, but it’s what we know how to do. Getting the honey ready and out the door is our main focus. A steady rhythm of work continues throughout the year. About ten people are working here with us now. The sun sets early over the fields. We finish the day by cleaning the equipment for tomorrow. This process ensures everything is ready when the next harvest comes.
