Shivi Arts

Shivi Arts is tucked away in Lane Number 4 of Goverdhan Bihari Colony, over in Shahdara. The address is 4/2307. It’s a residential-feeling area, so it’s a bit quieter than being on a main highway. We’ve been in this spot for quite some time. The room we use for the business is at the front of the house. We have a lot of different pieces sitting around, some finished and some just waiting for a bit more work. My sister helps me with the painting and the packing. It gets a bit messy with all the supplies and paint tins, but that’s just how it goes when you’re making things by hand. We have a small window that looks out onto the lane, and we often see the kids playing outside or the neighbors walking by with their groceries. Sometimes we set up a table outside if the weather is nice enough and work in the sun. We don’t have a fancy showroom, so visitors usually just come right into the workspace. It’s a bit cramped, but it feels like home and it works for us. We spend a lot of time talking about new ideas over cups of tea. We’ve lived in Shahdara most of our lives, so we know the people around here well. It’s not a big corporate operation, just a small setup that keeps us busy from morning till night. We like it that way because we can see every piece clearly.
