We have been operating Lotey Gears right here by the Old Bus Stand for quite a few years now. If you walk past the main terminal, you can usually hear the machines running from the street. It is not a very fancy place, just a workspace where we handle gear-related jobs that come our way. Most days it is just a couple of us working on whatever projects are lined up on the bench. The walls are covered in old calendars and grease marks, which is just how a shop like this tends to look after a while. We do not have a big office or anything like that. People usually just drop by because they know where we are located. Sometimes the traffic by the bus stand makes it hard to park, but we manage. My father started things out and I just kept it going because it felt right. We deal with a lot of local mechanics and people who need specific parts fixed up. There is always a pot of tea going somewhere in the back. It is a simple life, really. We open up early and stay until the work is finished for the day. Nothing too complicated about it. We just focus on the gears and making sure the teeth line up like they are supposed to before the customer comes back to pick them up. It keeps us busy enough.
