K L M Farm

K L M Farm is located out in Puntamba, right in the Rahata taluka area. We are positioned very close to the S T Stand, which means there is always a lot of dust and people moving about. The farm life here isn’t like what you see in pictures. It is mostly hard work and dealing with the weather. Some days the sun is too hot and other days we are worrying about the rain not coming. We have some basic structures for storage and a small area where we keep the tools. The ground is often muddy after a light shower. We start early, usually before the first buses start arriving at the stand. You can hear the conductors shouting destinations while we are out in the fields. We don't have an office with fancy furniture. Most of our meetings happen standing up or sitting on some crates. We grow what the soil allows and try to keep the pests away. The equipment is old but it still works if you know how to fix it with a bit of wire. People from the village often stop by to chat or ask about the crop prices. It is a simple existence tied to the land. We don't use computers much, mostly just keeping notes in a pocket diary. The days are long and we are usually tired by sunset.
