Dance Aacademy

If you walk down the main road in Kolapewadi, you’ll find our dance academy. It’s right there in Kopargaon, and we’ve been here for some time now. The sign outside might have a little typo in it, but everyone knows what we do. We have students coming in from all over the local area. The floor is made of wood and we spend a lot of time sweeping it because people bring in dirt from the street on their shoes. It gets loud in here once the music starts playing and the kids begin their practice. We don’t have big fancy mirrors everywhere or air conditioning that works all the time. Sometimes we just open the windows and let the breeze from the road come in, even if it brings some noise with it. Parents usually wait outside on the porch or talk to each other while the classes are happening. We teach all sorts of steps, and it’s mostly just about getting the kids to move and have some fun after their regular school hours. It’s a simple setup. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who like to teach and manage the daily chores. The pin code here is 423601, and we are easy to spot if you are looking for us on the main road. We keep a record book for fees on a small desk near the door. It’s just a place for the community to come and learn something new without too much fuss or complicated rules. We often have to remind the students to leave their sandals outside.
