Diyara Milk Producer Company Limited is located at 16 Mile in the Guru Tola area of Malda. Being out here in West Bengal-732127 means we are right in the middle of where everything happens. This isn't a city office with carpets and elevators. It’s a practical spot where the milk comes in and gets moved out. The mornings start really early here, usually while it is still dark, because that is when the milk starts arriving from the local producers. Guru Tola is a busy spot with lots of tractors and local transport moving around. We spend a lot of time cleaning containers, checking the temperature, and talking to the people who bring the milk in. There is always a lot of water on the floor from washing everything down, and the smell of fresh dairy is everywhere. It’s a tough job and your clothes usually end up smelling like the farm by the end of the shift. We don’t have fancy marketing people or a big boardroom. We just have a desk, some ledger books, and the cooling tanks. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to scramble to keep things cold. It’s just the reality of working in Malda. We know the local farmers by name and they know us. It’s a lot of hard work and very little rest, but someone has to make sure the milk gets where it needs to go every single day.
